I was watching Cupcake Wars yesterday and realized I never posted this photo. I had 3 friends over for lunch in December and this is what I bought for dessert. I've been wanting to visit Dollop Cupcakes in Penfield since they opened in 2009. Their cupcake bar offers an overwhelming choice of cakes, fillings, frostings and toppings, so I asked them to make me four different cupcakes. (Aren't these individual containers adorable? I hope they are recyclable though, I can't remember if they were.)I presented the cupcakes to my friends and suggested we cut each one in 4 pieces so we could each try each one. They went for it, as I knew they would. "Thank goodness, because I was having real trouble deciding which one I wanted!"
I wish I could tell you what the flavors were but I couldn't even remember the various combinations by the time I got home. We had fun guessing. I do remember the one in the lower right of the photo was gingerbread. One was red velvet.
They were all delish!

I follow them on Facebook and they really do have some unusual flavors and designs. But to me they look way too rich since I am not eating sugar. But I know you say there is no such thing as too rich.
Your new blog design looks great!
the tins you made are so beautiful, I wish I could have one of those, but where I live (Brazil) I find very difficult to obtain one as beautiful as those patterns you created.
And I have to tell you, I didn't know your work till I had access to your older blog when I was searching for depicted flowers.
I loved the texture of the paper work in the image, so I would like to use some of the flowers that you created to integrate a painting that I am working on - I will make changes but I want still have your permission to use it as the background of my twitter account or on a t-shirt.
When you answer me - or when the painting is ready - I'll show you.
Keep making your beautiful work.
Have you been to Sugar Mountain Bake Shoppe on Alexander in Rochester yet? I am a huge fan I even make jewelry modeled after their cupcakes
Susan, I've been a Facebook Fan of Sugar Mountain but never been to their store. Someday!
